According to its website:
“The [i4c] Campaign builds better cities by investing in and rallying communities behind impact entrepreneurs.”
Impact entrepreneurs improve communities through a business model that solves social or environmental problems. The [i4c] Campaign invests in early-stage impact companies that create a better future for our community (or have the potential to).
Funding Launchpad is on the verge of launching a crowdfunding revolution. No longer will startups and emerging companies rely on banks, venture capital firms, and wealthy individuals to raise capital. Further, consumers will no longer have to spend their investment dollars, shopping dollars, and charitable contributions with different organizations. With investment crowdfunding, consumer investors will be able to invest in companies that offer a financial return that also meet their personal beliefs.
The [i4c] campaign finals – known as “The Summit” – will be held July 13, 2012, beginning at 5 pm at Denver’s Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Billed as part shark tank, part celebration, Funding Launchpad and the other finalists will pitch their businesses while being put to the test by Denver’s successful business leaders and luminaries. Three impact companies will walk away as winners of $50,000, mentorship, free office space for six months, and other prizes.
After The Summit, the event will move outside for the Made in Denver After Party. Held in the Galleria at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the party will feature a showcase of Colorado-born companies, unique cocktails, decadent bites, and the chance to vote for the impact company you want to receive the Denver’s Choice award.
