The Funding Launchpad team is exhausted from presenting investment crowdfunding at several Denver events over the past two weeks.
On July 13, Funding Launchpad presented investment crowdfunding as part of the [i4c] Campaign Summit. “The [i4c] Campaign builds better cities by investing in and rallying communities behind impact entrepreneurs.” The event was help at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, the crown jewel of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
In front of a 1,000 person audience, Funding Launchpad presented investment crowdfunding’s power to give impact companies access to a much larger source of capital – the general public. The presentation was met by a great reception by the audience, panel of entrepreneur, investor, and political judges, and Galvanize, the venture capital firm that organized the event.
On July 17, the team could be found at Faegre Baker Daniel’s franchise summit, “strategies for maximizing growth and mitigating risk in an ever changing franchise landscape”. Funding Launchpad’s Steve Reaser, Shane Fleenor, and Dave Milliken jointly presented investment crowdfunding, moderated by Faegre’s Chuck Cotter. Attendees included senior executives from major franchisors, including Red Robin and Jiffy Lube, fledgling concepts like Wystone’s World Tea and The Jungle Lady, and franchisors. Feedback was so overwhelming Funding Launchpad was asked to present at an upcoming franchise conference in Chicago.
Two days later, Funding Launchpad presented their investment crowdfunding beta at the front range’s premier startup event, Boulder Denver New Tech (BDNT). Mapquest’s headquarters was bursting at the seams with entrepreneurs from across the state. This presentation featured the state of the capital markets, the impact on entrepreneurs, and how investment crowdfunding is about to democratize access to capital. If the number of conversations afterwards is any indication, entrepreneurs are craving Funding Launchpad’s launch.
Funding Launchpad will continue to appear at events across the front range in the coming weeks. Tomorrow, Shane Fleenor will be attending the inaugural Startup Colorado Legal Roundtable. Later that day, Dave Milliken will present investment crowdfunding during the “Accelerate Your Business to Funding” entrepreneur’s bootcamp. And August 8, Steve Reaser will be a keynote speaker in Colorado’s largest crowdfunding event in 2012, Simply Crowdfunding. Please stop by and say hello at one of these upcoming engagements.
